New Delhi: Hours after Anna Hazare was taken into preventive custody, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday issued notices to the Union Home Secretary and the Delhi Police Commissioner seeking a report within two weeks on the episode.

The Commission notice came this evening after it received a complaint from a human rights activist Anirudhasudhan Chakraborty, who alleged that provisions of Constitution and international human rights conventions were violated in the police action against Anna and his supporters.

"The Commission received a complaint regarding the preventive action against Anna. The complainant claimed that Anna and his supporters were to stage a peaceful protest and action has been taken against them," an NHRC spokesperson said.

The National Human Rights Commission has reserved decision on Wayanad MP M.I. Shanavas' petition seeking its intervention in the matter of a recent article by Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy where he prescribed a code of conduct for Muslims and suggested linking their voting rights to their acknowledging their Hindu ancestry.
The article appeared in the Daily News & Analysis on July 16, 2011, three days after the Mumbai serial bomb attacks.
Arguing that the article violated the human rights and other laws held sacred by the Constitution, the MP urged the NHRC to direct the Centre to start prosecution proceedings against Dr. Swamy.

Yes, the police brutality was there and even Children, Women and the Aged nor the properties, crops and all haven't been spared by the UP Police!

Emotional outburst and exaggerations are too common for all of us; one simple 'sorry, I erred' would relieve so many Union Minsters and Congress Leaders of the burden of trying to prove something that hasn't happened!

Have you read, “Mayhem of the Miserables!” available @ http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/52075

Lucknow, June 13, (IANS) :

The Uttar Pradesh police Monday confirmed that the 14-year-old girl found hanging inside a police station compound was strangled to death.

One constable has been arrested while 11 policemen and three doctors have been suspended, an official said.

The government has also transferred Superintendent of Police D.K Rai after the Mayawati government earlier Monday ordered a state police probe into the incident, which has caused a nationwide uproar.

Two policemen from the station are on the run.

The body of the girl was found hanging from a tree Friday night inside the Nighasan police station premises in Lakhimpur-Kheri district, about 200 km from here.

If they had something against the honest Watchman, Intezar Ali, why they should brutally murder his innocent, teenaged daughter?

What a misdirected vengeance?

Mere Transfers or Suspensions won't do!

PTI | Jun 12, 2011, 07.05pm IST.

LAKHIMPUR: Police today ruled out that the 14-year-old girl, who was found hanging inside the premises of a police station here, was murdered citing the post mortem report, even as the NHRCsaid it would send a team to look into allegations of rape.

"The post mortem report mentioned asphyxia, as a result of hanging, the cause of death which rules out the allegation of murder," Superintendent of police DK Rai said.

He said other than that from hanging, there was no injury mark on the victim's body. There was a minor abrasion on her right leg.

"To confirm the second allegation of rape, a slide had been sent to women hospital for testing and a final conclusion will be drawn only after the report is received," the SP said. The victim's mother in her complaint had alleged that the girl was raped and murdered.

He said the post mortem was conducted by a panel of three doctors and the procedure was video-recorded to avoid any doubt.

01)  Hindi News Channels have, already, captured the interview of the kid brother of the murdered girl testifying that he was asked to go home, while she was raped and hanged, by the Nighasan Police Station Staff!

02)  Hope this kid will not be murdered by the police, to protect their clan of rapists and murderers!!

03)  And also hope the Channels Reporting Staff would be safe from the police!!!

Have you read, “Mayhem of the Miserables!” available @ http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/52075

The National Commission for Women on Monday said it has sought a report from the Delhi Police on the midnight crackdown on Baba Ramdev's supporters at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan.

"We have sought a report from the Delhi police. We have sent a letter and are expecting a reply in 15 days," NCW Chairperson Yasmeen Abrar told reporters after meeting Bharatiya Janata Party Women's Wing President Smriti Irani, who went to the commission's office to submit a complaint on the issue.

Condemning the alleged "atrocities" carried out by police on women and children during the crackdown at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, Irani appealed to the NCW to form a committee to probe the incident. "We have taken into consideration the complaint made by her, but as per our procedure we will have to wait for the report by the Delhi police. After we get the report, if required, we will probe into the incident," Abrar said.

Well, loads of explaining to be done by UPA Government!
