The CPI on Saturday asked Union corporate affairs minister Murli Deora to step down following allegations against him in the Kaveri basin (KG) gas scam. Talking to reports here CPI general secretary A.B. Bardhan, said, “Why Murli Deora is not resigning even after charges of wrongdoing against him? After the allegations were levelled against him, what is the propriety in his continuing? He must go.” Murli Deora was the Union petroleum minister when the K.G. basin contracts were awarded, he added.

Well, in fact, he offered to resign but the same was kept in abeyance by Dr. Manmohan Singh, One  wouldn't know why; probably, he is waiting for a Court's intervention on this!
