Corporate Affairs Minister Murli Deora has offered to resign from the council of ministers. Mr Deora's resignation comes ahead of the proposed cabinet re-shuffle.
Speaking to NDTV, Mr Deora said his resignation had nothing to do with the CAG report on Reliance Industries. Mr Deora said "I had initiated the CAG Report...I will be happy to serve the party now and will wait for party’s decision."
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had earlier said the Oil Ministry and its technical arm, the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, bent rules by allowing Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries to inflate costs of development on its D6 block in the KG basin by 117 per cent.
