Hyderabad: Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Wednesday launched its 'strike by all sections of people' for the separate statehood, with staging of a 'Maha Dharna' (grand sit-in) in Hyderabad.  JAC Convener M Kodandaram, TRS floor leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly E Rajender, state BJP leaders Bandaru Dattatreya and Ch Vidyasagar Rao, and several leaders of government employees unions in Telangana participated in the agitation, at Indira Park.

It was preceded by a protest march from the Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram to Indira Park.

The strike envisaged government employees boycotting work (from September 5) and others taking up different forms of protests from Wednesday, JAC leaders said.

Kodandaram said this round of agitation would be much intense, so as to make Centre accept the Telangana statehood demand.

The BJP leaders slammed the Congress government for turning a blind eye to the wish of Telangana people, on this occasion. Devi Prasad, a leader of the Telangana employees, hit out at the state government over the revival of the Government Order 177 that facilitates 'no work, no pay' policy in the event of strike by employees.

Hyderabad: The Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC), comprising TRS, BJP and various pro-Telangana organisations would launch a strike from Wednesday in support of the separate statehood demand.

The Telangana supporters would hold a rally from the Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram to Indira Park in Hyderabad and hold a dharna there, JAC Convener M Kodandaram told reporters on Tuesday evening.

The strike by all sections of people envisages government employees striking work (from September 5) while others taking up different forms of protests, JAC leaders said.

The JAC leaders would undertake district, mandal and village level meetings from Thursday to gear up the people for the strike.

The JAC had earlier announced that the Andhra Pradesh government employees in Telangana, who are supporters of the JAC, would begin strike from August 17. It later announced that the strike of the employees would begin from September 5.

The Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC), which is spearheading the movement for separate Telangana state, has called for a shutdown in the region on Friday.
JAC convenor M. Kodandaram said the shutdown has been called to protest the insult shown to a Telangana martyr in Delhi and the government's attempt to suppress the right of employees to go on strike.
The day-long shutdown is likely to affect normal life in Hyderabad and nine other districts of the region.
The two-day shutdown July 5-6 in support of the demand for a separate state had crippled normal life.
The JAC called the shutdown after state authorities in Delhi did not allow the body of a youth, who committed suicide near India Gate Wednesday, to be kept at Andhra Bhavan, the state-run Guest House.

BJP's Andhra Pradesh unit on Monday threatened to pull out from the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (JAC) if the Congress and TDP were allowed to join the Telangana statehood movement undertaken by the JAC.
The BJP would re-consider its decision on joining hands with TPJAC and undertake a separate movement on its own if both Congress and TDP are allowed to join in the movement being undertaken by Telangana political JAC, state party president G Kishan Reddy told reporters here.
Both the ruling Congress party and opposition TDP were deceiving the people of Telangana as well as Andhra regions by making contradictory statements on the separate statehood issue, Reddy alleged.

Who will tell the Telengana Parties that "United they win, divided they fall"!

The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) seems confident that Telangana leaders from all parties who have recently resigned will unite under the banner of Ikya Vedika and fight for a separate state.
But Congress leaders from the region have decided to follow some other plan.
The Telangana Congress leaders said that they would go at it alone, without teaming up with any other party or the Telangana Political JAC.

THE DAY WHEN ALL THE PEOPLES REPRESENTATIVES FROM EVERY POLITICAL PARTY IN TELENGANA UNITE TO FIGHT, IS THE DAY PEOPLE OF TELENGANA WILL GET A SEPARATE STATE!

Riot police take positions as stones thrown by demonstrating students, rallying in support of the separate state of Telangana, are seen on the ground at Osmania University campus during the second day of a 48-hour strike, called by The Telangana Joint Action Committee, in Hyderabad - AFP.

Faced with a cold response from the Centre to the en masse resignation of lawmakers in support of separate Telangana demand, the Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) today said it would launch a joint agitation by involving all those who quit their posts.
As a result, the 'rail roko' stir in the region, which was to start tomorrow, has been postponed.
The JAC would organise a meeting with all public representatives, who have resigned from their posts, in the next couple of days and decide the future course of agitation, its convener M. Kodandaram told reporters here.
He said the JAC leaders have spoken to some Congress MPs and also the opposition Telugu Desam leaders who have responded positively to the idea.
"They all said they will discuss the matter internally and tell us. The general feeling is that joint stir should be undertaken."

In another Report (http://www.deccanchronicle.com/channels/cities/hyderabad/persuade-seemandhra-leaders-trs-249It is reported that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Wednesday said the Congress high command should hold talks with Seemandhra leaders and convince them to accept the demand for Telangana.

Another Report blames the C.M., Kiran Kumar Reddy's mishandling (http://www.deccanchronicle.com/channels/cities/hyderabad/delay-t-sops-triggered-crisis-248): It seems that the Congress central leadership was ready to roll out special financial packages for Telangana at the time of the Assembly Budget Session itself but the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, had stalled the process, asking for more time.

Whatever it is, now all the Telengana People's Representatives are united along with people of Telengana in their demand for a Telengana and Centre's long Silence   would only provoke further violence and suicides (http://www.deccanchronicle.com/channels/cities/hyderabad/centre-remains-silent-t-250

Stepping up pressure on the UPA Government, pro-Telangana supporters today undertook a novel protest by organising collective cooking programmes at key traffic junctions here and threatened to intensify the stir if their demand is not met.

“It is a practice to conduct collective cooking and community lunches in open areas in Telangana during the monsoon. We have converted this into a form of protest to express our demand for separate statehood,” Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) Convener M. Kodandaram told reporters at the Gun Park in front of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly building here.

During the protest named ‘Hyderabad Cooks on Roads’, activists of TRS and the JAC cooked food on streets at various important places in Hyderabad.

Will Congress, ever, declare its final stand on the demand for separate Telengana State?
