New Delhi: The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) claims that seven women of Bhatta and Parsaul villages of Greater Noida were raped by policemen during the agitation against land acquisition in May 2011.
NCSC Chairman PL Punia says that the women have claimed in an affidavit and also in a statement to the Commission that they were raped. Punia says that all the seven women belong to the Other Backward Caste category.
"Seven women of Bhatta and Parsaul villages have in an affidavit said that they have been raped by policemen. The same was corroborated in front of the Commission. NCSC official Latha Priyakumar conducted the investigation," says Punia.
Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has alleged that several women were raped and many farmers killed during the agitation in the two villagers.
