NALGONDA: Is the notorious Khap panchayat culture as rampant in the State as it is in Haryana? It seems so. A day after a woman was ex-communicated for seeking alimony from her divorced husband at Bheemili in Visakhapatnam, a young man reportedly committed suicide after being ostracised at a village in Nalgonda district on Sunday.

Shaik Sayyed (28), a daily-wage worker, was found hanging from a tree in the fields outside Motkuru in Nalgonda district this morning. His widow Gore Bi lodged a complaint with the police, stating that Sayeed had ended his life following the family’s humiliation in the village.

Going into the details, Gore Bi, a farm hand, had an argument with a fellow worker on Friday and the latter took the matter to the notice of the village elders. She had complained that she was insulted by Gore Bi and demanded justice. The village elders, including Gore Mia and Razz Mohammad, summoned Gore Bi Saturday morning but she did not turn up.

Social Boycott is a Criminal Offence under Indian Laws1

The Village Elders along with the Villagers should be prosecuted under relevant loss as well as for abating suicide of Shaik Sayyed.

Hope, the District Administration and the local police wake up and act, accordingly!

Village panchayats in Bheemgal mandal pass resolutions urging residents not to send their children to private schools and send them only to government schools
Inscribing history, three village panchayats in Bheemgal Mandal, unanimously passed resolutions urging the residents not to send their children to private schools and send them only to government schools.
They took this decision in view of the dwindling strength of students in government schools which are on the verge of closure. Enthused by the promise held out by the authorities that they would provide all necessary facilities at local schools, the villagers want introduction of English medium of instruction at the existing government schools in their villages.

GOOD RESPONSE.......................................................................

Good Stand by the Village Panchayats;  Ramdev should visit them to learn Rural India's stand on replacing English with local languages, before he re-start his reforms-movement.
