Shiv Sena today slammed Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for throwing a lavish party at his residence when Mumbai was mourning the loss of lives in the triple bomb blasts that rocked the city on Wednesday.
The party's mouthpiece 'Saamna' said that the incident portrayed Khan, who has played a hero on the silver screen, as a villain in real life.
According to the paper, Friday's bash was to celebrate Katrina Kaif's birthday and a private screening of her latest release 'Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara'.
Besides SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Chunky Pandey, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, were prominent among those present at the party.
Shah Rukh was not available for comments. "@iamsrk thanks for the super celebration last night. A perfect end to the release day... Love (sic)," tweeted Farhan yesterday.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday took swipe at Anna Hazare, saying the noted social activist will have to ultimately take the support of politicians to get the Lokpal Bill passed.
Raj was responding to Hazare's statement on Saturday that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar of NCP and the MNS leader indulged in mud slinging and they were cut from the same cloth.
"We may be cut from the same cloth but finally he has to do the rounds of the politicians to get the Lokpal Bill passed in Parliament," the MNS chief said.
Raj was speaking to reporters after a delegation of mill workers met him at his residence here.
The delegation sought his intervention to get houses for the mill workers.

Uddhav Thackeray
Uddhav Thackeray.

If Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was so concerned about farmers’ land issues and their harassment, he should visit Jaitapur in Maharashtra and lead the agitation of local farmers and fishermen against the proposed nuclear power plant there, Shiv Sena said on Saturday.

“Rahul should visit Jaitapur and lead the agitation. We will also join in,” Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray said.

“Rahul has waged an agitation against the Mayawati government, saying that farmers’ lands cannot be acquired by force. He has also undertaken ‘padyatras’. This is nothing but a farce by Rahul and Congress,” Mr. Uddhav said.

“All this is a political nautanki (drama),” the Sena leader said.

Shiv Sena has backed the local people’s agitation against the nuclear power project in Jaitapur, in coastal Ratnagiri district.

Uddhav should know better: Rahul's heart bleeds only for UP farmers; he doesn't have enough blood to bleed for farmers of A.P. and Maharastra, where the Congress rules and for farmers of Bihar and Odisha, where elections are not due, yet!

The cine-wings of Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have warned the filmmakers and TV channels against casting Maria Susairaj, a convict in the 2008 Neeraj Grover murder case.
Ram Gopal Varma, who has made a film 'Not A Love Story' on the gruesome incident, had said that he was interested in casting Maria for a role in his next film. Stories of Maria to be a part of the next season of Bigg Boss also made rounds, even though Colors channel, which airs the reality show, dismissed these speculation on Sunday.
On Varma's offer, Shiv Sena-promoted Bharatiya Chitrapat Sena's (BCS) president Abhijit Panse said, "Varma is a big director. But since his films are not doing well at the box-office he is doing such publicity stunts."
Panse also warned of carrying out ‘Shiv Sena style’ protests, if any filmmaker casts Maria in a film.
On the likelihood of Maria's inclusion in Bigg Boss, Panse said, "There is a trend coming up in television reality shows to cast a person with a criminal background, like Bunty Chor, who was cast in season 4 of Bigg Boss."

Making `fun' of Lata Mangeshkar no laughing matter: Sena body!

Brickbats, Bouquets & Backfeeds are welcome on prmadhura@yahoo.com

May 17, 2011 PTI Mumbai.

The Shiv Sena-promoted Bharatiya Chitrapat Sena (BCS) has taken strong objection to a character in a comedy show on a TV channel making 'fun' of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.

The outfit has demanded immediate removal of the character (an actor and stand-up comedian) from the popular show, Comedy Circus, which is aired twice a week.

"A character on the show has been making fun of Lata Mangeshkar, who is a Bharat Ratna awardee. The character is nowhere near the stature enjoyed by Lata Didi. How can they make fun of her? She is the voice of the country," BCS President Abhijit Panse told PTI today.

Comedians entertain the audience but their standards should go up.  Fun at the cost of self is the greatest humour, but attacking the icons of the society could fetch them troubles!
