Maharashtra Government is stunned after receiving a Rs 10 crore bill from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) towards reimbursing expenses on guarding 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab, lodged in the Arthur Road jail.

Confirming that the state government did receive the Rs 10 crore tag from ITBP, Medha Gadgil, principal secretary, Home, told PTI that the Maharashtra authorities are writing to the ITBP.

"We are in the process of writing to them. We will explain that 26/11 terror attacks is not only an issue limited to Maharashtra but a national issue," she said.

But, at this rate how much have we been spending on the convicts of December 13, 2001?  Thanks to the politics being played by the Union Home Minister and the Delhi Chief Minister, even after the Seven Years of Supreme Court confirming the death sentence to Mohammad Afzal Guru is still alive and being protected by our Authorities, safely, which safety they denied to the innocent Indian citizens.

India's 'most wanted' man hasn't even been charge-sheeted!

MUMBAI: The man wrongly placed on India's most wanted list of criminals hiding in Pakistanhas not even been chargesheeted in the crime that put him on the ignominious roll in the first place.

Thane resident Wazhul Kamar Khan fled the state eight years ago soon after learning that the police suspected his role in the 2003 Mulund blast, which killed 11 and injured 82. He remained on the run for seven years, earning a place on the country's most wanted list that was forwarded to Pakistan. He returned to Mumbai in 2010 and was thereafter arrested by the state's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

Back then, the ATS claimed that Khan had a major role in the Mulund blast and two other bombings. "He took part in the blasts at Mulund, Vile Parle and Mumbai Central. He was present at all times from assembling bombs to transporting them," ATS chief Rakesh Maria said.

The court, however, was not impressed with the police's work. With no chargesheet filed by cops against Khan within 90 days as required by law, a special trial court in Mumbai released the 44-year-old on bail last August. 


Shame, in our over enthusiasm to prove that Pakistan is sheltering our fugitive accused terrorists, lets not add up to the list, without proper verification, with innocents or those who were just interrogated or even those who were named by the other accused to avoid further police torture.
