Anna out of hospital, heads to Ralegan Siddhi

Gurgaon: Three days after he was admitted to Medanta Medicity hospital in Gurgaon, following he broke his 12-day fast demanding a strong Lokpal bill, Gandhian Anna Hazare on Wednesday was discharged from the hospital and left for Pune enroute his native village in Maharashtra.

He was discharged this evening after his vital parameters were found to be stable.

Hazare left through the rear entrance apparently to avoid the glare of the media which was present in strength outside the hospital premises.

Shortly after he was discharged from the hospital, the 74-year-old Gandhian flew out of the capital in a scheduled commercial flight of a private airline.

He reached Pune Airport at around 11:15 pm. People gathered in large numbers to welcome him at the airport. Police had a tough time in keeping at bay the crowd which thronged the airport.

(Reuters) - Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh left hospital in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, government and medical sources said, two months after suffering severe injuries in an assassination attempt at his palace compound in Sanaa.

The sources said Saleh was walking and in "good condition" as he headed to a government residence in the Saudi capital Riyadh. It is not yet clear when the 69-year-old leader will return to Yemen, which has been paralyzed by over six months of protests against his 33-year rule.

Saleh's impoverished Arabian Peninsula country has been in a political stalemate since he was flown out in June after a bomb blast inside the mosque at his presidential compound.

As efforts to negotiate Saleh's exit stalled after the attack, clashes with Islamist militants in the south and pro-opposition tribesmen around Sanaa have risen. This has revived the risk of civil war in the country, which had pulled back from the brink after fierce fighting in Sanaa three months ago.

Neighboring Saudi Arabia and the United States, both targets of foiled attacks by al Qaeda's Yemen-based wing, have pushed for the signing of a Gulf-brokered power transition plan.
Saleh, who has vowed to return to rule Yemen since his attack, has backed out of signing the deal three times.

A period of relative calm during Saleh's convalescence has been threatened by rising clashes around Sanaa and in the protest hotbed of Taiz, about 200 km (120 miles) to the south.

Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Mujawar, who was injured in a bomb attack on June 3 along with President Ali Abdullah Saleh and many other officials, left the Saudi hospital on Saturday and is expected to stay in Riyadh for recuperation, while Saleh will remain in the hospital until he finishes treatment, a Yemeni government official told Xinhua.

“Prime Minister Mujawar, who was wounded along with President Saleh and other officials during the June 3 attack that targeted the presidential palace in Sanaa, left the Saudi hospital on Saturday for a Saudi government accommodation where he will stay for recuperation,” Mr. Saleh’s press secretary Ahmed al-Soufi told Xinhua.

“I have also phoned the Yemeni government officials accompanying President Saleh in the Saudi military hospital in Riyadh and they confirmed to me that President Saleh will remain in the hospital until he finishes his treatment,” al-Soufi added.

“There is no confirmation that President Saleh will leave the hospital very soon,” al-Soufi said.

The embattled president and other 87 high-ranking officials were hospitalized in Riyadh a day after the attack that left 12 of Mr. Saleh’s bodyguards and a government official dead.
