Four soldiers and 25 Taliban fighters were on Sunday killed in clashes in the restive Mohmand tribal region, where the Pakistani security forces carried out a ground and air offensive to capture a mountain occupied by the rebels.
The Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and the Pakistan Air Force launched a joint operation on Saturday to evict terrorists from their stronghold of Walidad in Mohmand Agency, the military said.
After intense fighting, the troops secured Walidad Top, a strategic mountain, and surrounding areas after killing 25 terrorists.
Four soldiers were killed and eight more injured in the clashes, the military said.
The remaining militants in the area “fled across the border”, the military said.

Once, USA quits Afghanistan in favour of Taliban, the situation could be even worse!

ZAWIYAH, Libya (Reuters) - Fighting between Libyan troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi and rebels broke out in the town of Zawiyah on Saturday, a resident said, shutting the coastal highway that links the capital Tripoli with Tunisia.
"The situation is very bad in Zawiyah. There's been fierce fighting since the morning between the Gaddafi forces and the rebels," said the resident, who gave only his first name, Mohammed, fearing reprisals.
A Reuters reporter trying to travel through the town was diverted via backstreets with a police escort. He said the highway was deserted except for a large number of soldiers, police and armed men in civilian clothes.

Reuters – 1 hour 45 minutes ago.

ADEN (Reuters) - Yemen said its army killed 21 al Qaeda members on Saturday in a southern province whose main city was seized by Islamist militants during the country's bloody political crisis.
Nine Yemeni soldiers were killed in the fighting in Abyan province, whose capital Zinjibar fell to Islamist fighters last month, sparking fighting that has set nearly all its population to flight.
Oil giant Saudi Arabia and Western countries fear the chaos resulting from such clashes could give al Qaeda a foothold in the impoverished Arabian Peninsula state, which straddles oil export routes and has been a cornerstone of U.S. counter-terrorism strategy.

Gen. Ali Moshen al-Ahmar, a top military leader who defected in March, has backed the powerful Hashid tribal confederation with 1,000 troops of his own.

The pitched battle between President Ali Abdullah Saleh's forces and one of Yemen's oldest and largest tribal confederations has escalated to a level unseen in the capital for nearly half a century, with both sides bringing in reinforcements.
Gen. Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, a top military leader who defected in March, deployed about 1,000 of his troops against President Saleh's forces for the first time Wednesday night to back up fighters from the Hashid tribal confederation, the Wall Street Journal reported. The confederation is led by Sadiq al-Ahmar (not related to the general). Sheikh Ahmar, along with his brothers, presents one of the biggest challenges to Mr. Saleh's grip on power.

Smoke billows from a neighborhood in the Yemen capital Sana'a after fierce fighting erupted between dissident tribesmen and loyalist troops on May 31, 2011
Smoke billows from a neighborhood in the Yemen capital Sana'a after fierce fighting erupted between dissident tribesmen and loyalist troops on May 31, 2011 - AFP.

Large explosions rocked Yemen's capital Sana'a on Wednesday as members of the nation's most powerful tribal federation kept up their fight to oust President Ali Abdullah Saleh. At least 39 people are reported killed and dozens of others wounded in the past day.  As the situation worsens, some are looking beyond the current crisis to envision a post-Saleh Yemen.

Government and tribal fighters are battling for control of key ministry buildings in the capital, while the home of Hashid tribal chief Sheikh Sadeq al-Ahmar continued to come under attack.

Gunfire echoed across Sana'a as ambulances ferried the injured to hospitals.  Some residents continue to leave the city to seek relative safety in outlying villages, while those remaining are stockpiling basic supplies, including food and gasoline.

It seems, finally, the Yemeni's desire for Democracy would be betrayed by the GCC, USA and Al Quaida!
