CHENNAI: Charging ruling AIADMK with targeting former DMK ministers and functionaries, the party has sought constitution of a high-level committee by Madras High Court to go into 'false and fabricated' complaints of land grabbing being filed against its partymen.
DMK Legal Wing Secretary R S Bharathi in a petition filed in the High Court, also sought an interim injunction to restrain the government, DGP, their officers and others from arresting DMK members 'on false accusations of land grabbing' pending disposal of the petition and from registering 'false cases.'
Charging AIADMK with having an 'inimical' attitude against DMK and 'to wreck vengeance on DMK', Bharathi alleged that the Jayalalithaa government was 'calculative taking steps to tarnish DMK's image through government agencies by utilising government machinery such as the police department.
DMK alleged that government officials and DGP have directed District Superintendents of Police to open up exclusive separate cells district headquarters to receive complaints of land grabbing against its leaders and members, specifically identifying periods of complaints between 2006 and 2011, the period during which the party ruled the state.
"It is shocking that in its enthusiasm to take revenge on DMK party it (ruling AIADMK) constituted and formed 39 anti land Grabbing Special Cells with a financial commitment of Rs 27,71,11,658,' the petition said adding that 'tax payers money is sought to be squandered by targeting the opposition party'.
DMK alleged that ever since the Jayalalithaa government assumed office on May 16 last it has been targeting DMK through its officers and police.
Bharathi claimed that Jayalalithaa, in her capacity as Chief Minister, had given an official statement that an "Anti Land Grabbing Special Cell' would be formed to receive complaints relating to the 2006-11 period and that the government had issued an order on July 28 in this connection.

What is wrong in accepting complaints ? If they are 100 % confident that they have not done anything wrong let them face the law and courts .Why they want protection and MK wants anticipatory bails en-mass .It seems similar to M K's complaint against CBI and the courts on the arrest of his favorite daughter Kanimozhi , He has been telling the world that nobody is responsible for any wrong doing by Kalaignar TV .Kalaignar TV is an entity for business and when anything wrong done by the Directors of Kalaignar TV ,only the Directors should be held responsible . Nobody can arrest ‘Kalaignar TV ‘and law can fully stop functioning . When it will happen ?According to Press reports Kalaignar is already ready with the second TV as ‘Murasu TV ‘ with all his tainted money and with the full support of the Union Govt .MK has escaped by being out of the Board of Directors of Kalaignar TV. . His wife ,as a 60 % share holder ,is more responsible than his daughter Kanimozhi who is only having 20 % share .In fact MK himself has told in public in Thiruvaarur that he is the person actually responsible for making Kanimozhi as one of the directors of Kalaignar TV .He is now trying to protect his 'warrior son' Alagiri and his family from facing 'Puzhal Jail' for the land scams during MK's last regime .He has done miscalculations that JJ will not come back to power at all .The pity is that the people of TN had no other choice but to bring JJ into power to check-mate MK and his family .We hope that during this term ,JJ will not only do better for TN but also give a good lesson to MK & DMK .With the national awareness against corruption and land scams these daylight referrers should be put to Puzhlal jail and all lands confiscated and all bank accounts freezed .

ReplyDeleteThough the provision for anticipatory bail is there to protect innocents from being victimised, all sorts of confirmed looters of public exchequer, common properties and innocent citizens take this as a first resort to delay investigation of their crimes, subsequent arrests and prosecution.
