The Maharashtra Government is considering the Centre's suggestion to refer to the Central Bureau of Investigation the sale of Wakf Board land to Mr Mukesh Ambani for building ultra luxury residential tower ‘Antilla'.

The 27-storey Antilla, in affluent South Mumbai, is said to be built on land owned by the Board.

Maharashtra's Minister for Minority Affairs and Wakf, Mr Arif Nasim Khan, in a written reply to the Assembly on Monday, said the Centre had suggested a CBI investigation in December 2010. An opinion was sought from the State's Law and Judiciary Department and the matter is with the State Home Department, he said.
