NEW DELHI: The verdict of the by-election to the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat, which saw the Babulal Marandi led Jharkhand Vikas Morcha wresting the seat from the BJP, has inflicted a crushing blow on the morale of the Arjun Munda government in Jharkhand.

The JVM candidate, Ajay Kumar, a former IPS official, trounced his BJP rival Dineshanand Goswami by a margin of 1.55 lakh votes. He had won the seat comfortably in the 2009 general elections.
