A 65-year-old diabetic woman was cold-shouldered when she went with her Arogyasri card to the super specialty Care hospital in Musheerabad, but was prescribed eight tests when she went as a paid patient.
Mr K.R. Rajasekhar, a small-time businessman and resident of Musheerabad, took his diabetic mother, Ms Pankajam, to cardiologist Dr G. Reddy, as she had complained of numbness and heaviness in her chest.
“On Tuesday, I paid the doctor Rs 300 as consultation fee. He asked my mother to undergo eight tests and asked us to pay Rs 4,000 at the reception,” said Mr Rajasekhar.
His family holds an Arogyasri card and he was told the tests could thus be done for free.
He re-registered as a new patient and this time, the same doctor merely wrote out a prescription for three tablets without even examining the patient. The doctor also visits other branches.

Well its everybody's knowledge that all corrupt doctors do prescribe scores of unnecessary tests so that they can get their 50% cut and also prescribe unnecessary drugs to earn commissions on their sales!
