Saying he was “deeply involved” in the conspiracy, a Delhi court on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of CWG Organising Committee (OC) ex-treasurer M. Jayachandran, an accused in the Timing-Scoring-Result (TSR) scam causing a loss of over Rs. 95 crore to the exchequer.
Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh said Mr. Jayachandran, who had worked in various high positions in the run up to the Games, has the propensity to influence witnesses and can do so if released on bail at this stage in the case involving former OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi.
“It is clear that M. Jayachandran was deeply involved in the entire conspiracy hatched with other co-accused for awarding TSR contract to Swiss Timing Limited of Switzerland at an exorbitant rate by eliminating competition and thereby causing huge loss of more than Rs. 95 crore to government exchequer and providing unlawful gain to private party/persons.
