Social activist Anna Hazare on Thursday said there was no place for violence in the anti-corruption movement and he and other members of civil society would take part in the future meetings of Lokpal bill drafting committee.

Hazare, who returned from Delhi this morning, was reacting to yoga guru Baba Ramdev's statement that he would raise a militia to protect his followers from police atrocities.

Talking to reporters at a function here, Hazare said: "We would not be with Ramdev if he gives up non-violence. None of us believes in violence."

Our Anti-Corruption Movement has been founded on the two cardinal principles of "Satyagraha" and "Ahimsa" and under no circumstances will we allow any divisive forces to hijack this movement for their narrow political ends.

Mentally deranged people may come and go, but the stability of our movement against corruption and black money shall go on.

We will not allow any provocation to force us to change our principles of fight against corruption with "Satyagraha" and "Ahimsa".
