Strange songstress Lady Gaga prompted many jaws to drop during the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night when she channeled her foul-mouthed, whisky-drinking, chain-smoking male alter-ago, Jo Calderone.

"She left me! She said it always starts out good and then the guys -- meaning me, I'm one of the guys - we get crazy,” the Calderone character said in the opening monologue. “I did. I got crazy. But she's f---ing crazy too, right?"

During Gaga’s multiple appearances on stage throughout the night, she continued to find the need to reinforce that “Gaga wasn’t here tonight” and that “Calderone” “was accepting the award on her behalf.”

However, we’re told Gaga’s somewhat crass drag routine wasn’t just restricted for the cameras. An insider told FOX411’s Pop Tarts that the performer also spent the day using men’s room.

We’re sure that was … interesting … for male attendees.

But the strange behavior didn’t end there.

Perhaps the most awkward moment of all came when “Calderone” presented Britney Spears with the Video Vanguard VMA (right after declaring that growing up, Gaga used to “touch herself” while looking at the posters of the pop icon on her wall) and propositioned her for a kiss.

New Delhi: Ace shooter Gagan Narang, who notched up four gold medals at last year's Commonwealth Games, was conferred the country's highest sporting honour -- the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award -- in a glittering ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The 28-year-old rifle shooter, who was the first Indian marksman to qualify for next year's London Olympics with a bronze in the World Championships last year, was an automatic choice for the prestigious award.

Narang, who was disgruntled at being "ignored" for the award last year, collected the trophy that consists of a medal, citation and cash prize of Rs 7.5 lakh from President Pratibha Patil.

Besides winning four gold medals in the 2010 CWG, Narang bagged a silver in the men's 10m air rifle singles event at the Asian Games last year. He also won a team silver at the Asian Games when he combined with Abhinav Bindra and Sanjeev Rajput in the 10m air rifle event.

Among the Arjuna awardees, the most high-profile among the ones chosen this year -- Indian pace spearhead Zaheer Khan -- could not attend the function as he was recently operated upon on his injured ankle in England.

Impressed by Anna Hazare's agitation for a strong Lokpal Bill, a retired railwayman today announced an award of Rupess one lakh to the Lokpal activist for agitating for a 'good public cause.'

"My wife Uma and I have decided that we'll award Rs one lakh every year to someone who is championing a good public cause. We have decided to give the first award to Anna Hazare,'' 64-year-old Subhas Sarkar, who retired as Chief Commercial Manager (General) of the South Eastern Railway, said.

Stating that the award will be in memory of his son Saptarshi who died on October 19 last year under tragic circumstances, Sarkar said 'we'll contact Anna to find out where it will be convenient for him to accept the award'.

Oprah Winfrey will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and James Earl Jones and Dick Smith will receive honorary Oscars for their outstanding careers.

Oprah Winfrey, James Earl Jones and makeup artist Dick Smith have been picked to receive honorary Oscars.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences says the three will be honoured with Oscar statuettes at the Governors Awards in November. The academy’s Board of Governors voted on Tuesday to recognize the entertainment industry veterans.

Ms. Winfrey will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which honours philanthropic and humanitarian contributions. The 57-year-old media mogul, who was nominated for a supporting actress Oscar for 1985’s The Color Purple, supports various charitable and educational causes, including her own namesake foundations and Academy for Girls in South Africa.
