Lucknow:  Avadhpal Singh Yadav, Animal Husbandry Minister in the Mayawati government, has refused to step down. This comes a day after a local court in Etah ordered a registering of an FIR against him, and three of his family members, in connection with three murders.

Mr Yadav who belongs to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) alleged that Samajwadi Party (SP) workers were behind the murder.

"They (SP) workers are behind the triple murder but fingers are raised against me. I am not going to resign", he told reporters in reply to a question.

The minister's remarks come in response to an FIR issued by Chief Judicial Magistrate Buddhi Sagar Misra against Mr Yadav, his two brothers - Chandra Pratap Yadav - an MLC of the ruling BSP- Amarpal Yadav - and son Ranjeet Yadav.

The Yadavs are charged with the murder of Vijay Verma, his son Abhinav Verma and their gunner Santosh Yadav on June 10, in the Jaithra town of Etah district, about 270 km from the state capital Lucknow.

  1. Has CHAMBAL DACOITS joined BSP in UP Politics? Every month at least one BSP Policician is involved in LOOT, RAPE or MURDER. HC-SC needs to pull down badges of some higher ranking Police Officers for not filing FIR and not just slam them.
