New Delhi: Sources said social activist Anna Hazare, who was on Tuesday arrested and sent to seven-day judicial custody along with seven of his associates for defying prohibitory orders, will be released from Tihar Jail today only.
According to Delhi Police sources, a release warrant has been sent to the Tihar Jail and Anna and his aides could be out of jail within a matter of few minutes.
Earlier in the day, Hazare and seven of his team members, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manoj Sisodia, were sent to Tihar Jail after being remanded to seven-day judicial custody by a local magistrate for obstructing government’s work.
"Anna Hazare refused to sign a personal bond and has been sent to seven days judicial custody in Tihar Jail," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said, describing it as a preventive arrest.
Police Commissioner BK Gupta said Hazare and his team members were detained because they failed to comply with police guidelines.
While Hazare, Sisodia, Radheyshyam Prajapati and Suresh Pathare have been lodged in Jail No 4, along with CWG scam accused Suresh Kalmadi, Kejriwal, Navin Jaisingh, Dada Pathare and Darshak have been moved to Jail No 1 where 2G scam accused A Raja is lodged.
However, Neeraj Kumar, DG Prisons, Delhi clarified that the activists are being kept in separate wards which are away from the wards of other corruption accused like Raja and Kalmadi.
This is the victory of India's 'Aam Admi' (Common Man) against the despotic UPA Government's mismanagement of issues of grave public concern!!!
