Days after he dismissed reports that he was suffering from dementia, former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi was on Monday admitted to the All India Institute of Medicine Sciences (AIIMS) after a check-up by a team of doctors, including a neurologist.
"He underwent a check-up in the morning. He was admitted to the cardio neurosciences department in the hospital around 3.40 p.m.," said an official from the hospital who did not wish to be named.
"A three-member team of doctors will conduct tests on him. It is difficult to say for how long he has been admitted," added the official.
Kalmadi, 67, complained of dizziness, depression and anxiety and was taken to the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital July 19 and an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan was carried out on him.
