Cleaning up the environment by Nature Club Department!

BANGALORE: Working toward the cause of environment preservation taken up by T John Group of Institutions, the Nature Club Department of the college recently visited Bannerghatta National Park for creating environmental awareness amongst the visitors and also organised a NSS programme for cleaning the National Park premises.

The executive director of Bannerghatta National Park in his interaction with the students appreciated and encouraged the gesture taken up by the college.

Deputy Director Krishnan addressed the gathering with an inspiring and enlightening speech about the environmental issues and raised concern about the irresponsible behaviour of some of the visitors to the park.

This was then followed by cleaning of selected areas of the park by the students and the staff members. All the plastics and other nondegradable wastes were collected and dumped. Around 35 students from all the key departments and the faculties participated in the programme.

Dr Thomas P John, chairman, T John College said, "An activist is not the man who says the environment is dirty but is the one who cleans up the environment.
