The CBI, probing the alleged cash flow that went into the conspiracy to demolish Babri Masjid in December 1992, has got certain 'crucial leads' which suggest that a considerable part of the fund was reportedly routed through 'Hawala' channel for the purpose.

Sources said initial probe by the agency has also revealed that donations were allegedly received by certain right wing-outfits from abroad for the purpose. The agency is expected to complete its investigation by September 15.

The agency is also taking assistance of both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax department in this regard, sources added.

“The agency officials are also analysing findings of the Liberhan Commission report which indicted 68 people including BJP stalwarts Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani in the demolition of the Babri Masjid. Initial probe has revealed a considerable part of the fund was allegedly routed through Hawala channel for the purpose,” sources said. It is being further verified with the assistance of the ED officials, sources added.

  

Sources further said, “Outfits, allegedly involved in the demolition of disputed structure, reportedly received donations from abroad for the purpose. The CBI sleuths are verifying it with other concerned agencies also.”
