Fifteen tankers ferrying oil to NATO forces in Afghanistan were destroyed when a huge blast ripped through a terminal on the outskirts of Peshawar city in northwest Pakistan, officials said on Sunday.

The tankers were parked at a terminal on the Ring Road, which was targeted with a bomb by suspected pro-Taliban militants last night.

There were no reports of loss of life in the attack.

A massive fire erupted at the Fauji Terminal soon after the blast and engulfed the tankers, police officials said.

About 50 tankers were parked at the terminal and fire fighters were able to control the fire after several hours.
