Dubbing the detention of a number of party men in land grabbing cases as ‘totally unwarranted and uncalled for’, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on Friday sought Tamil Nadu Governor S.S. Barnala’s intervention to stop the police action.
A delegation of the party’s advocates wing called on the Governor and handed over a memorandum in this regard.
The delegation alleged while a Minister in Jayalalithaa’s Cabinet, Agri Krishnamurthy, had been left to go scot-free despite ‘documentary evidence’ of land grabbing against him, DMK men in ‘legal possession’ of land were arrested.
