The much-awaited meeting between a brother and sister today took place in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail when Dalbir Kaur finally met her imprisoned brother Sarabjit Singh. As per the family members here, the one and a half hour meeting inside the jail was an emotional one and Sarabjit was missing his two daughters and wife who were not given visa by the Pakistan embassy.

After the high court’s direction, sister Dalbir Kaur who is in Pakistan since June 6 went to the Kot Lakhpat Jail at around noon to meet his brother who faces death row in Pakistan.

Although the meeting lasted for one and a half hour, Sarabjit was not taken out of his cell and both brother and sister met with bars in between. “I have got a phone call from Dalbir Kaur and she told me that Sarabjit was fine and was missing us, as we didn’t get the visa. Dalbir also told me over phone that Sarabjit was bit worried over the entire case,” said Sukhpreet Kaur, wife of Sarabjit Singh.

Heartrending that he should stray into Pak territory and jailed on suspicion of spying!
