- Pakistani born Canadian Tahawwur Rana exchanged mails with the mysterious 'Major Iqbal' of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI) about 'progress made' on the Mumbai terror attack plot, an FBI agent has testified. In an July 7, 2008 e-mail, 'Major Iqbal', who confessed Pakistani-American terrorist David Headley says was involved in planning the Mumbai attack allegedly asked Rana if there was any 'progress made on the project', the agent told a Chicago Federal court on Wednesday.Prosecutors claim he was referring to the planned attacks, but defence attorneys have said any discussion Iqbal had with Rana centred on their plans to work as partners in Rana's immigration business, according to Chicago Sun Times. As a former Sr. Executive, who used to report to the CEOs, handling strategic issues, I know almost nothing goes without their direction & funding; only on certain missions, they would ensure that only the Key Executive, concerned, knows of the involvement of the top.The Executive Incharge would handle the entire issue, sometimes, involving the Sr. Cadre of the Company and the external agencies who themselves would never come to know that that mission was being done, at the instance of the top.So, if any of them had to testify, s/he would only testify against the lower ranker but s/he is not competent to exonerate the top of the Corporate, for the simple reason s/he wouldn't be privy to that knowledge.
And I don't see the system would be any different with Governmental Agencies.Full story at,
