Civil society activists, who are part of the Lokpal Bill drafting committee, today used Anna Hazare's agitation site to hold an open house to educate people on what they want from the bill and mobilise public support in favour of a strong ombudsman. Addressing people assembled at Rajghat to support

Hazare's one-day fast, Arvind Kejriwal, Shanti and Prashant Bhushan and other speakers, spoke strongly in favour of bringing the PM and the higher judiciary under the ambit of the Lokpal, an issue of friction between the civil society and the government.

The point and clauses raised by the activists found resonance with the people who responded with loud cheers. "It is said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is a very honest person," said Kejriwal, to which people responded with loud boos. "The Prime Minister should stand up and say yes I want to come under the Lokpal authority," he said.

The Goebbelss of Congress have been ranting about Today’s Anna’s fast is in support of Ramdev, who is a Sangh Parivar Stooge.

I have been contending, since 5th. Of June, that Anna’s fast is against the Police brutality perpetrated during UPA’s Mid-Night Mayhem at Ramlila grounds on that Midnight, and Ramdev’s eviction is never an issue.  This Morning at Rajghat, even a flex with Ramdev’s picture was removed there.

Our soft-spoken Prime Minister justifies it as inevitable though unfortunate! Digvijay Singh raises the bogey of Sangh Parivar’s conspiracy to divert the peoples attention from their Hindu Radicals’ Terroristic acts!! Some other Congress spokespersons tell us that the Delhi Commissioner of Police had taken the decision on mid-night to avoid Hindu-Muslim Communal Rights!!!  And Renuka Chaudhary wants us to look into the positive aspect of other 47,900 people going away without being beaten-up by the police and that we shouldn't harp on those 100 or less people who received police treatment, which is a collateral and unavoidable damage!!!  Some even say that Ramdev violated permission given only for Yoga Classes!!!!!  What a baloney?

All the above justifications are to defend their cruel act of that fateful Night, which anyway they have to explain to the Supreme Court, NCW & NHRC and not to us.

If the Government had any 'intelligence' that the otherwise peaceful assembly could turn into a violent one and wished to pre-empt any such contingency, they could ask them to disperse allowing them some reasonable time and only then should they resort to forceful measures and not swooping on sleeping people, dead in the Night, lobbing teargas shells and lathicharge them, brutally.
