- Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan on Thursday said that Baba Ramdev's proposed hunger strike against corruption and repatriation of black money stashed in foreign banks, is politically motivated and he would not support the agitation."Koi support nahin karunga ... unka agenda hai ... jaise hi koi neta ho jata hai ... voh yeh sab karne lagata hai (I will not support him ... he's got an agenda ... as soon one becomes a leader ... he resorts to such kind of agitation)," Shahrukh told reporters at the release of a theatrical trailer of his upcoming flick ‘Ra.One’."Jo jiska kam ho, usko voh karna chahiye … agar koi neta ban kar karna chahta hai to that is not the right way to raise an issue (One should do what is appropriate for him or her. If anyone is trying to slip into shoes of a politician then that is not the right way to do it.)," he said appealing to youths not to fall prey to corruption. Is Shahrukh opposed to
repatriation of black money stashed in foreign banks, per se? - Is he opposed to Ramdev, for his personal traits and political ambitions?
- There, definitely, are certain very impractical and meaningless demands by Ramdev, later on added to the original demands under, "Bhrastachar Mitao Satyagrah", which are,
- 1) A neutral and empowered Jan Lokpal Bill, which has the authority to recover black money and send offenders to prison (death penalty is added now).
2) The black money that is deposited in the foreign banks should be declared national property by the government, and no Indian citizen should be allowed to deposit money in foreign banks with illegal methods. If anybody does that, he should be declared an anti-national".
3) India’s signing of the United Nations Convention on anti-corruption, and said it should be passed in the Indian Parliament.
All the above demands are long due adaptation and we should all support his movement for this.
So does 'Anna', Kiran Bedi, Anupam Kher, et al.
Other demands like removing Electronic Cash Cards, abolition of currency notes of higher denomination (on account of every raising inflation) or even weeding out English in favour of Hindu (why Hindi, why not Tamil or Telugu, or Marathi, or Bengali, or Malayalam, or Kannada, or Assamese; there is no end to this verbal game), which smacks of his Hindi-Chauvinism need not be considered.
Guys like Shahrukh needs to learn to give issue based support, unless he is opposed to the
repatriation of black money stashed in foreign banks.
