Anti Corruption Movement: Anna group against Ramdev's decision to raise armed wing!

The Anna Hazare group on Wednsday distanced itself from Ramdev's decision to raise an armed force to resist any government crackdown on the anti- corruption movement, saying all protests have to be non-violent.
Civil rights activist Arvind Kejriwal and lawyer Prashant Bhushan, who sit with Hazare in the joint drafting committee on Lokpal Bill, said all protests have to remain non-violent.
"We do not support this (Ramdev's announcement of forming an armed wing). All protests have to be non-violent," Kejriwal told reporters here.

My Take:
Yesterday, some BJP, etc. supporters of Ramdev's funny idea of raising 11,000 armed force and later if necessary 11,00,000 such force have defended it, vehemently.  Even Ramdev wanted us to re-visit Gandhi, who, according to him, propounded to raise such an armed force, if 'Satayagrahis' are lathi-charged and he further tried to touch a chord by invoking that the proposed forces is to protect out womenfolk from police brutality.  But he as well as our Union Home Minister needs to understand that even the talk of raising any armed force is an act of 'sedition' and cannot be tolerated in a civilised democratic republic.

My limited understanding of the history of Gandhi hasn't shown me any instance of violence by him nor championing it;  In addition he wanted 'Satyagrahis' to face the brutality with a smile, to shame the perpetrators of such cruelty. A true 'Satyagrahi' would face the police detention and would rather suffer long jail-terms than showing cowardice or violence, both of which are anomaly to the nature of a 'Satyagrahi'.

Ramdev's conduct on that fateful night of mayhem, at Ramlila grounds doesn't fit the definition of a true 'Satyagrahi':  his jumping off the stage, hiding among the women, trying to escape in women't cloths, leaving his supporters in the lurch and landing in Haridwar to rant on raising armies and all are all sure signs of a modern 'Uttara Kumar' (S/o. Maharaja Virat in Mahabharata).

We all supported his socalled fast-unto-death at Ramlila as his first three demands of May 04, 2011 were all long due for implementation;  but later-on he went on to add several more nonsensical demands, each one of them are more ridiculous than the other;  we still supported only those three demands;   during those two days at Ramlila as his popularity was going up, he has started talking less 'Satya' and more 'Agraha' culminating into that brutal police intervention (which we still condemn).  The fact that he has suppressed his written undertaking to the Government and still insisted his supporters on to go ahead with the 'fast' is a clear case of betrayal of his own supporters.

We not only no more support his quixotic tantrums but also denounce his latest announcement in the strongest terms.  I, personally, feel that we all should ignore his rantings as of a mentally deranged person.
