More than 100,000 people in Michigan went without electricity Monday due to a series of storms. | |
The storms, with winds in excess of 130 km per hour, mainly affected the city of Battle Creek, which has 50,000 residents. Numerous trees fell onto houses and automobiles, a large part of the city was without power and many businesses had been damaged, Mike McKenzie, Battle Creek's emergency services chief, told CNN.
