IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn will trade in tailored suits for jump suits as he spends the next few nights in Rikers Island jail, a notorious New York holding facility for those awaiting trial.

"He will be in a single person cell and kept away from other inmates," a New York City Department of Corrections spokesman told AFP. "He goes to Rikers to sleep tonight. He might already be there."

The New York jail is a chaotic maze of holding cells filled with thousands of defendants who either can't afford bail or who, like Strauss-Kahn, are deemed a flight risk and have had their bail application denied.

The complex, which sits on a 400-acre (1,650 kilometer) island on the East River near LaGuardia airport between Queens and the Bronx, can house more than 20,000 detainees and staff at a time.

As of now his defense is thathe has been framed by his rivals in France and that he was having lunch with his Daughter in another Restaurant, at the time of the alleged rape attempt.  DNA tests, Forensic Analysis & Hotel's CC Recordings, etc. should come out the truth.
