Details are filtering slowly out of Libya about the effects of apparent NATO airstrikes on the capital Tripoli early Tuesday.
Witnesses heard at least five loud blasts in the Libyan capital and watched a plume of smoke drift over the city.
Later, government officials escorted journalists to what they said were some of the damaged sites. Journalists were shown a damaged office building and a hospital, where officials said at least three children were injured. A telecommunications tower was also reported to be damaged.
