Six were killed when an IED went off in Maharashtra on May 5; Maoists may have mistaken the vehicle for a police car

Sarkar family and their friends are still struggling to make sense of the explosion
We are awaiting a ground report from Gadchiroli: Maoist spokesperson

Rajnandgaon: She usually slept till half past seven, but on May 5 this year Purnima Sarkar awoke at 4.30 a.m., bathed, dressed and prepared for her son Manoram's wedding. She worked quietly, going through checklists, readying her son's bridal clothes, arranging lamps and oblations for prayer.

As dawn broke over the small house in Masjid Gali in Gauri Nagar, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, the wedding guests arose one by one — Santosh and Pushpa Kumar, who had come down from Jagdalpur with their four-year-old son Akash, her sister Pushpa Sarkar who had arrived from Gondia district in Maharashtra, and her mother Tarulata.

The mayhem of Maoists killing more and more innocent civilians, by the day!
