Everybody can see that the attack on Akbaruddin Owaisi was preplanned and now with surrender of Mohammed Pahelwan and his four relatives and others who were arrested just after the attack and those two who were injured during the attack and a few absconding, the total conspirators are identified.
But, police and the State administration has not been curbing the extensive money-lending racket, at interest rates as high as 400+%, per annum, lent mostly to the petty traders, small employees and labourers of the Old City of Hyderabad - amount varying between thousand rupees to Lakhs of rupees.
The modus operandi is to give 900 to 90,000 rupees in place of 1,000 to 1,00,000/- rupees and go on collect 100 to 1000 rupees per each day, without fail, which amount to collecting 11.11% interest per day, which when rotated for 365 days works out to be 405.55% of interest alone.
This apart these Pahelwans and other dons (ladies included) would indulge in Haftas (weekly collection of protection money), goondaism, land grabbing, land settlements, illicit liquor brewing and all sorts of illegal activities.
It is high time that the government focus on curbing these illegal activities of the above anti-social elements.
