It is better that we ask Bhushans to quit the Jan Lok Pal Bill Draft Committee.
Mr. Kejriwal's fear that it was only a smear campaign to malign the civil society reps. on the Committee and if we allow Bhushans to resign, soon he too would be targeted to go, through such similar campaigns is unfounded. If he has something to hide, only then he should entertain such fears.
The current campaign against Bhushans may well be a mere smear campaign, but given the gravity of allegations, in the larger interest of the Jan Lok Pal Bill, they should immediately make way for others with non-controversial background to occupy the Draft Committee.
And to think that if they go out of the Draft Committee, Indian civil society cannot throw up alternatives is nonsense.
We can very well throw up better individuals with impeccable statures.
