A final decision on the contentious Telangana issue would be taken after detailed consultations with leaders of both Telangana and Seemandhra regions at an “an appropriate time and place”, Union Health Minister and Congress in charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs, Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Saturday.

“A final decision on the Telangana issue will be taken after detailed consultation with the leaders of both Telangana and Seemandhra regions including Ministers, MPs, legislators and opposition leaders at an appropriate time and place”, he told reporters.

A meeting with leaders and representatives of the regions had already been held, the details of which “cannot be discussed”, Mr. Azad said.

June 18: The Vijayawada MP, Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal, on Saturday said that the Centre will announce its decision on a separate state for Telangana within a month.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the Centre will make an announcement on the issue after conducting an all-party meeting. He said the Congress is committed on the constitution of Second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC). Mr Lagadapati said majority of the people favour a united state and only a few are demanding the formation of Telangana.

He is neither a Soothsayer nor the spokesman of the Congress;  the less he talks on this issue, the more peaceful the migrants in Hyderabad would be!
