Two TDP MPs from Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh today resigned from Lok Sabha in protest against the Centre’s delay in the formation of a separate state, a day after their counterparts from Congress put in their papers.
The MPs - Nama Nageswara Rao, also the TDP Parliamentary Party leader, and Ramesh Rathod - met Speaker Meira Kumar here and tendered their resignation.
The move comes a day after 10 Congress MPs from the region resigned, mounting pressure on the Centre and their party High Command to take an early decision on the statehood demand.

The Telugu Desam on Thursday issued a notice to the Legislature Secretary for moving a No Confidence Motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government for its failure to help farmers and on other issues.
“We have decided to move a No Confidence Motion since the government has miserably failed on all fronts, especially on solving the farmers’ problems. People have lost faith in this government. We are ready for elections,” said the TD president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Soon after the notice was served, the number game, in terms of MLAs, has started in earnest.

Party strength

*Ruling alliance

Congress - 155

Prajarajyam - 18
Majlis - 07
Independents - 03
Total - 183

*Opposition

Telugu Desam - 89

CPI - 04
CPM - 01
Lok Satta - 01
TRS - 11
BJP - 02
YSR Congress - 01
Total - 109

*2 MLAs can’t vote

If around 40 MLAs from the Congress switch their loyalties, the collapse of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government will be certain.
And people are restive as the Chief Minister and his Ministers are too busy with any and everything but with the Administration and have been unable to improve the State's Finances, for long.

TDP too knows this position, as their own MLAs are not ready to face the electorate, yet.  Hence this is only another gimmick of Chandrababu Naidu.
