Bravo to air special on Russell Armstrong's death

Bravo will air a special addressing the suicide of Russell Armstrong, the estranged husband of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Taylor Armstrong, sources close to production told Show Tracker.

The ladies of the show - Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Kyle and Kim Richards, and Adrienne Maloof - filmed the special Monday; Taylor was not present. It's unclear if the special will air before or after the premiere of the show's second season.
An individual close to one of the "Housewives" said the ladies were not given specifics as to how things would unfold during their sit-down and that it was intended as a way to get their reactions to what happened.

The Hindu Bridal Mantra 2011 launched with a fashion show featuring works of six top designers.

The Hindu Bridal Mantra 2011, presented by GRT Jewellers, was launched with an evening of glamour and high fashion at Sheraton Park Hotel and Towers, on Thursday. Six well-known designers from across the country displayed their creations at a fashion show choreographed by Achla Sachdev. Mowbrays Hall reflected the mood of the evening. As the spotlight was on trousseau, there was a glitzy touch to the décor. When the emcee for the evening, television fame Suchitra Pillai, took centre stage, the guests, dressed in their stylish best, settled down for a show of couture.

The opening act was by Raghavendra Rathore. The man who put Jodhpur's bandhgala on the global fashion map presented a shimmering line from his new label ‘Blue Mantra'. A highlight was his fresh take on traditional prints and motifs. Beginning with a black and gold story, he moved to richer tones that are typical of trousseau.

When we think style in six yards, the one name that instantly flashes across the mind is that of Shaina NC. The Mumbai-based designer showcased her experiments with the traditional attire. Concept saris, two-piece saris and creations with detachable borders… she created drama on the ramp with her drapes. Her palette was pastel and the fabrics she used were sheer.

Next, it was the turn of New Delhi's Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor to display their creativity. The Kapoors, whose name is synonymous with luxury, presented a well-crafted line inspired by Victorian Renaissance. ‘Vintage glamour' was their operating phrase; so naturally, the collection was full of surface detailing and tapestry-like craftsmanship.

EA Bridal, a label featuring the works of New Delhi-based design duo Rimple and Harpreet Narula and Chennai-based Erum Ali, took a detour from couture staples, to capture the circle of life through their collection. Silhouettes were mixed and matched in innovative ways and the designers played with volume. Tuxedo-style jackets with lehengas and well-contoured kurtas with intricately worked drapes, there were twists aplenty.

A surprising interlude was the show by Hyderabad-based jewellery designer Suhani Pittie. Known for her creative departures, she put together a collection that struck a balance between tradition and contemporary tastes. Her line was interesting for its imaginative combination of metals, finishes and precious stones.

The Hindu’s Bridal Mantra will be launched on August 25 with a fashion show featuring top-notch designers from across the country. The lines by various designers will move to a mega three-day shopping extravaganza from August 26 at Sheraton Park Hotel and Towers.

French Connection: Varun Bahl

A NIFT graduate, based in New Delhi, he launched his label in 2004 and has since become one of the most exciting talents in the industry. His forte lies as much in sharp Western silhouettes (as seen in his pret-a-porter lines for women) as in the innovative use of surface embellishment in his couture creations. Bahl also has a menswear label with filmmaker Karan Johar, called Karan Johar + Varun Bahl.

Vintage Feel: Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor

The New Delhi-based label of the husband-wife duo has carved a niche in the luxurious, embellished couturewear segment. The label currently has stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Hong Kong, Dubai and New York. Besides dressing up contestants at Gladrags Mrs. India 2006, the designers have styled Madhuri Dixit for the first episode of the TV show ‘Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai'.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blue and Bridal: Raghavendra Rathore

He set up his label Rathore Jodhpur in 1994 with a focus on immaculate tailoring, drawing heavily from his hometown's celebrated heritage. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Rathore put the Jodhpur bandgala on the world map.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Style and Shaadi: Erum Ali

The Chennai-based designer, known for her bejewelled creations, now showcases her lines in Dubai and the U.K. A couple of years ago, she teamed with New Delhi's Rimple and Harpreet Narula and launched EA Bridal Lounge. Erum has also made her presence felt in Kollywood as a stylist for films, including the much-talked-about “Aayirathil Oruvan”.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drama with drapes: Shaina NC

One of the sari's most acclaimed ambassadors, this Mumbai-based designer-politician-social activist is known for draping the traditional attire in three dozen ways to make it appeal to today's youngsters. Think style in six yards? Think Shaina NC.

Ash refuses to show off her baby bump

Spicezee Bureau

Mumbai: Ever since news of actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy broke out, speculations have been rife of whether the actress would pose for any magazine with her baby bump.
While the concept is prevalent in the west, with many international celebrities proudly showing off their baby bump on the cover of magazines, the trend is slowly catching up in India too. Anchor Mandira Bedi, actress Tara Sharma and Konkana Sen have all posed for health and film glossies during their pregnancy.

Ash was recently approached by an international magazine to flaunt her baby bump for the cover, but the Bachchan bahu said a flat no.
Ash has always been a private person. She has never discussed her personal life in the media and has maintained a stoic silence in several crucial incidences. So it is not surprising that the actress refused the lucrative offer without even giving it much though.
