Samjhauta case: Hearing on charge sheet on August 17.

A special court hearing the Samjhauta blast case today fixed August 17 as the next date for hearing on the charge sheet filed in the matter by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
During the in-camera proceedings in the case, the NIA submitted the "deficient documents" related to the case and also told the court that it would file a supplementary charge sheet against some other accused soon.
However, the NIA sought some time from the court so that it could file the supplementary charge sheet in the case, defence counsel Manveer Rathi said. The NIA had on June 20 charged Swami Aseemanand and four others with triggering explosions in the cross-border Samjhauta Express in 2007 that left 68 people dead and 12 injured.

Aseemanand, who confessed to being in the know of the Mecca Masjid, Samjhauta, Ajmer and Malegaon blasts - PTI.

Capping four years of probe, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today charged Swami Aseemanand and four others with triggering explosions in the cross-border Samjhauta Express in 2007 that left 68 people dead.
In the charge sheet filed before the Special Court here, the NIA accused Aseemanand, Sunil Joshi (now dead), Lokesh Sharma, Sandeep Dange and Ramchandra Kalasangra alias Ramji of hatching a criminal conspiracy which resulted in bomb blasts in the Samjhauta Express near Panipat on February 18, 2007. Majority of those killed in the blast were Pakistanis.
The NIA investigation has brought out that Aseemanand was quite upset with the Jehadi/terrorist attacks on Akshardham temples in Gujarat, Raghunath temple in Jammu and Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi.

He should be punished for that mindless mayhem of the innocent people.

To his credit, however, I should mention, by confessing his involvement in Mecca Masjid Blast Case in Hyderabad, he saved an innocent Muslim kid, who was wrongly charged by the local police, for the same blast.

This he has done, when he was jailed here in Hyderabad and when he fell sick, that kid nursed him to good health.

After knowing why he was detained, he made that confession, voluntarily.

This shows, even a hardened terrorist like his could have repentance.
